The Podcast

Welcome to Atomic Moms, a judgement-free zone I like to call “Switzerland of the Mommy Wars”. We explore all parenting styles, challenges, and choices.

It was recently announced that ABC is developing a family sitcom inspired by the Atomic Moms podcast and our family, which I get to create and write together with my husband, Adam Sztykiel. We’re excited for listeners to join us on this journey.

I had no clue how to do this parenting thing. I was the person at the party asking not to hold the baby.

Hi! I’m Ellie Knaus, the voice you hear on Atomic Moms. Before I got pregnant, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to be a mom. (Cultural gasp, I know). Fast-forward to two kids, dozens of parenting books highlighted for the pod, and countless hours of free on-air consultations from the best in the biz, and I can honestly say: it still ain’t easy. Our growing pains don’t stop just because we have kids. If anything, the sleep deprivation, career pressures, our own early childhood drama, and relationship issues come to the forefront.

Luckily, there are researchers and psychologists and honest mom-friends who can help us figure our stuff out. And even when we can’t figure it out, we can commiserate. Motherhood comes more naturally to some than others, but we can all find our maternal sweet spot and muddle through the meltdowns. This is what Atomic Moms is all about.

Mama, How Can WE Help You?

Pregnancy + Birth

From unmedicated home births,to planned c-sections by choice, to the NICU, we cover it all with non-judgmental curiosity and love.

Parenting Help

I love interviewing experts! I share highlights from their best-selling books and put them in the hot seat with struggles we’re facing at home.

Self Care + Relationships

Relationships are HARD. And self-care is so important. I’ve got the best guests to help us with both.

If there is one parenting podcast you should be listening to, Atomic Moms is it! From the hilarious banter between her and her husband to the hard hitting topics she covers, Ellie delivers each episode lovingly, candidly, and unbiasedly. I laugh, I cry, I ruminate - I’ve never concluded an episode without feeling more empowered as a mom, partner, etc. than before I tune in.
